Resources in the College of the Liberal Arts

The College of the Liberal Arts has many resources available to foster student success and promote student engagement. We encourage parents and families to partner with their student(s) to ensure they are connecting with the available resources. 

Academic Advising

Liberal Arts Undergraduate Advising collaborates with students to design academic plans that incorporate their academic, career, and personal goals while meeting the standards of the undergraduate degree and providing a framework upon which students can develop intellectually, socially, and professionally.

Career Enrichment Network

The Career Enrichment Network is a resource for Liberal Arts students who are seeking opportunities to engage in career-related, international, and professional development activities.

Paterno Fellows Program

The Paterno Fellows experience offers “an education for leadership” in the best tradition of the liberal arts. It molds well-rounded students who are ready for the world and prepares them for citizenship, for lifetime learning, and for the satisfaction derived from an exemplary education. Students aspiring to become Fellows are challenged to perform to their full potential and offered the support they need to achieve their academic goals.

Diversity and Inclusion

The College of the Liberal Arts is committed to supporting access and success of traditionally underrepresented students in higher education via intrusive engagement the development of an intentional culture that facilitates the learning process and empowers students to make sound academic, personal, and professional decisions.

Moments of Change:
A Century of
Women’s Activism

For the second time, the College of the Liberal Arts has chosen a theme around which it has planned courses, lectures, presentations, and events. This year’s theme, A Century of Women’s Activism, examines the impact of the past century of women’s activism and was inspired by the centennial of the adoption of the 19th Amendment, giving women the right to vote.

Student Organizations

Students are encouraged to join one of the many students organizations that relate to the liberal arts, are managed by liberal arts students, and often overseen by liberal arts faculty and staff. To learn more, students should attend the virtual Liberal Arts Student Organization Fair from 5:00–6:00 p.m. EDT on October 20.
